College Ball

Gala event of the year

On Saturday April 2nd we hold the Gala Event of the year – our College Ball. This is an outstanding evening which is a focus for our Year 12 students. Given the large student population, Year 12 students have the first preference to attend. It should also be noted that the College Ball is a privilege for students to attend and as such, students earn the right to receive an invitation to purchase a Ball ticket. This means that student attendance, dress code, academic progress and conduct must meet the Manea expectations in order for them to receive an invitation to the MSC Ball.

All queries regarding the College Ball should be directed to Tahnee Boxall at tahnee.boxall@education.wa.edu.au or Ian Green at ian.green@education.wa.edu.au

College Board AGM and Nominations

Wednesday February 17

Manea Senior College Board Annual General Meeting (AGM) scheduled for Wednesday February 17th at 5:30pm at the College.

Several parent representative vacancies (2/3) on the College Board for 2016.
The Board is the most important representative organisation for a school as it establishes the College vision, strategic directions and oversees the performance of the College.

The commitment to being a Board Member involves two meetings per term, usually lasting from 5:30 –  7:00pm. It is essential under legislation and for the successful directions and operations of the College to have a good representation of parent and business members. Please give serious consideration to being a member of the Board of the only Senior College, and one of the most successful schools, in the South West region. Should you require further information, please do not hesitate to contact Rod (College Principal) on 9721 0600 or email rod.rykers@education.wa.edu.au

To nominate for the Board simply click on the link below to register your nomination. Nominations must be received by the start of the AGM on Wednesday February 17 2016.

The 99 ATAR club has a new South West member

It was a morning of surprise for one Bunbury student after he discovered he had made it in to the exclusive 99 ATAR club.

For 17-year-old Manea Senior College student, Jon Kennedy the academic world is now his oyster after he achieved an impressive 99.10 ATAR.

“I was pretty shocked but pretty happy too – I’ve got a trainee-ship starting in January and I’ll be doing a Certificate III in Information Technology ,” he said.

The South-West graduate is still not sure what he wants to do at university but is looking forward to a break and is relieved the pressures of exams are now behind him.

Manea Senior College principal Rod Rykers said Jon’s achievement was well deserved with a full 6 ATAR course load in Year 12 and daily travel from his home in Greenbushes.
