MSC musician wins support to reach for stars

59th Frank Arbuthnott Scholarship

Talented young musician Henry Delbridge’s performing arts education will continue after he received the 59th Frank Arbuthnott Scholarship.

The Manea Senior College Year 11 student was presented the award earlier this month at a Donnybrook Balingup Shire Council function where shire president Brian Piesse praised his musical passion.

“Henry is a very talented young man who is well known in the shire – he has a passion for music and the performing arts,” Mr Piesse said.

Henry said the scholarship would go a long way in helping him to continue his musical studies.

“Music helps me concentrate and I’m planning to take the grade seven exam in piano this year,” he said.

“The funds from the shire and Arbuthnott family is a really good boost for another year of lessons which means I can advance as a musician.”

ECU Open Day

Get ready to set your career in motion with a visit to one of ECU’s three campuses. Speak to lecturers, explore our labs, or snack at a food truck – there’s something for everyone.

Unique among universities, ECU actually has three open days, one for each campus.

The Joondalup event (22 July) showcases ECU’s largest campus while Mount Lawley (12 August) is home to the new $5 million arts hub and the renowned Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).

South West (26 August) is your chance to check out the largest regional campus in WA, located in Bunbury.

To plan your day in advance, download a program from the ECU Open Day web page.
